A two-day visit to the Lake District (22.-23.3.2003)

In the late afternoon we went to the sea in the west.

Next morning we had an english breakfast.

The lake Derwentwater next to Keswick - that's where we started our second hike.

(19.8 kB)		 On the path were a lot of gates (to prevent the animals from leaving the pasture grounds). They are called kissing gates, because only one person could pass at a time :)

I'm the master of the transfer - YOU SHALL NOT PASS! No, no, please don't use the gate.
(38.7 kB)		 That's the Stone Circle of Keswick. It was built by farmers 2500 years B.C.

Sometimes it's strange how trees grow. With all the moss on it it was really cosy.
